I honestly think Kenya is finished as we know it. I can't see things returning to normal for a long time. What happened yesterday in Naivasha seems like a turning point to me. Some of the race hate I've read on other forums is really sickening; if estates in Nairobi are going to be for certain ethnic groups the fault lines will be there for years to come.
One thing I always used to enjoy about trips to the coast was the mix of peoples in Mombasa. You could be in a bar drinking with an Arab an Indian a Giriama and a Luo be served by a Kamba waitress in a Kikuyu owned bar and be sold a watch by a Somali.
I was fighting back the tears last night listening to the news on the radio, I really do fear the worst.
